This is a guide on how to level your Blacksmithing profession from 1 to 450 quickly. At each level, it outlines which items you will be able to forge, and which materials you will need. Blacksmithing is the forging of weapons, armors and other items from ore and minerals. The items you make will be beneficial for many classes in World of Warcraft. This profession is best paired with Mining - it can be paired with other professions, but be prepared for it to get very expensive very quickly. One way to get some of your money back from this profession is to befriend an Enchanter, who can Disenchant the items you make that won't resell easily, and give you back the Enchanting materials to sell. All prices in this guide are approximate, they may differ slightly depending on where you buy recipes and your server.

Levels 1 - 75

To begin your career as a Blacksmith, you will need to visit a Blacksmithing trainer in one of the major cities of Azeroth and become an Apprentice. This will cost 8 copper. You will automatically gain the Rough Sharpening Stone recipe from the trainer upon becoming a Blacksmith. On your way to 75, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Blacksmithing Trainer:
