This is a guide on how to level your Engineering profession from 1 to 450 quickly. At each level, it outlines which items you will be able to engineer, and which materials you will need to engineer them. Engineering is used to make many helpful and bizarre items that are useful to every class in World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, to use most of the items you need to have the Engineering skill, which means there isn't much of a market for the things you can make. This profession is best paired with Mining, as it will relieve some of the expense associated with levelling Engineering. It is still quite an expensive profession to level though. Some of the items you can make will make you indispensable on long raids, or just in parties in general. All prices in this guide are approximate, they may differ slightly depending on where you buy recipes and your server.

Levels 1 - 75

To begin your career as an Engineer, you will need to visit an Engineering trainer in one of the major cities of Azeroth and become an Apprentice. This will cost 8 copper. You will automatically gain the Rough Blasting Powder recipe from the trainer upon becoming an Engineer. Weak Flux can be purchased from a Blacksmithing, Engineering or Trade Supplies vendor for 80 copper each. A note: You will need most of the things you craft in this guide to craft other things later on, so don't go mad selling things until you're sure you don't need them any more. On your way to 75, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Engineering Trainer:

30:
Handful of Copper Bolts, 98 copper, Rough Copper Bomb, 1 silver 10 copper

50:

Levels 75 - 150

Visit another Engineering trainer and become a Journeyman. This will cost 4 silver and 25 copper. On your way to 155, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Engineering Trainer:

Travel to the Outlands and find the Engineering trainer in Thrallmar or Honor Hold and become a Master Engineer. This will cost 8 gold and you must be at least level 50. On your way to 350, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Engineering Trainer:

Levels 350 - 450

Travel to Northrend and learn the Engineering Grand Master rank from Warsong Hold, Valgarde, Valiance Keep, Vengeance Landing or Dalaran. This will cost 28 gold and you must be at least level 65.
On your way to 450, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Engineering Trainer:
