This is a guide on how to level your Leatherworking profession from 1 to 450 quickly. At each level, it outlines which items you will be able to craft, and what materials you will need.

Leatherworking is a profession that allows you to craft armor for Druids, Hunters, Shamans and Rogues out of leather. This profession is best paired with Skinning. As always, you can pair it with another profession, but expect the cost to rise considerably. Leatherworking has 3 specialisations; Dragonscale, Elemental and Tribal. All prices in this guide are approximate, they may differ slightly depending on where you buy recipes and your server.

Levels 1 - 75

To begin your career as a Leatherworker, you will need to visit a Leatherworking trainer in one of the main cities of Azeroth and become an Apprentice. This will cost 8 copper and you must be at least level 5. You will automatically learn the Light Armor Kit, Woven Copper Ring, Braided Copper Ring and Delicate Copper Wire recipes upon becoming a Jewelcrafter. Thread and dye can be purchased from any Tailoring, Leatherworking or Trade Supplies vendor. On your way to 75, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Leatherworking Trainer:

15: Handstitched Leather Pants, 50 copper
25: Handstitched Leather Belt, 75 copper
30: Light Leather Quiver, 1 silver, Small Leather Ammo Pouch, 1 silver
35: Cured Light Hide, 50 copper
40: Embossed Leather Vest, 1 silver
55: Embossed Leather Boots, 1 silver, Embossed Leather Gloves, 1 silver
60: Embossed Leather Cloak, 1 silver
70: Light Leather Bracers, 1 silver 50 copper

Create 30 Light Armor Kits (requires 30 Light Leather).
Create 40 Handstitched Leather Boots (requires 80 Light Leather and 40 Coarse Thread).
Create 30 Embossed Leather Gloves (requires 90 Light Leather and 60 Coarse Thread).

Total Minimum Cost: 9 silver 33 copper
Total Mats Needed: 200 Light Leather, 100 Coarse Thread.

Levels 75 - 150

Visit another Leatherworking trainer and become a Journeyman. This will cost 4 silver and 25 copper. On your way to 150, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Leatherworking Trainer:

75: Embossed Leather Pants, 2 silver
80: Fine Leather Belt, 3 silver
85: Fine Leather Cloak, 3 silver, Fine Leather Tunic, 3 silver
95: Light Leather Pants, 4 silver

Create 55 Fine Leather Belts (requires 330 Light Leather and 110 Coarse Thread).
Create 30 Dark Leather Cloaks (requires 240 Medium Leather, 30 Fine Thread and 30 Gray Dye).
Create 5 Hillman's Leather Gloves (requires 70 Medium Leather and 20 Fine Thread).

Total Minimum Cost: 73 silver 25 copper
Total Mats Needed: 330 Light Leather, 110 Coarse Thread, 310 Medium Leather, 50 Fine Thread, 30 Gray Dye.

Levels 150 - 225

Return to your trainer and become an Expert Leatherworker. This will cost 42 silver 50 copper. On your way to 225, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Leatherworking Trainer:

150: Heavy Leather, 10 silver, Cured Heavy Hide, 5 silver, Heavy Leather Ammo Pouch, 5 silver, Heavy Quiver, 5 silver, Hillman's Cloak, 6 silver, Heavy Armor Kit, 7 silver 50 copper

Create 60 Thick Armor Kits (requires 300 Thick Leather and 60 Silken Thread).

Total Minimum Cost: 4 gold 44 silver

Levels 225 - 300

Return to your trainer and become an Artisan Leatherworker. This will cost 4 gold and 25 silver. On your way to 300, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Leatherworking Trainer:

Levels 300 - 350

Travel to the Outlands and find the Leatherworking trainer in Thrallmar or Honor Hold and become a Master Leatherworker. This will cost 8 gold and you must be at least level 50. On your way to 350, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Leatherworking Trainer:

Travel to Northrend and learn the Leatherworking Grand Master rank from Warsong Hold, Valgarde, Valiance Keep, Vengeance Landing or Dalaran. This will cost 28 gold and you must be at least level 65. On your way to 450, you will be able to purchase several recipes from the Leatherworking Trainer:
